2014- YEAR OF BREAKING UP THE FALLOW GROUND

15 September 2014

We still with the Youth. Having done their little get together they have now started working on their youth choir. Wonderful and useful way of expending their energies. We pray that they do not grow weary that they remain encouraged and fired up. They have their conference to look forward to in December. There is a lot of unsaved youths in the area and we desire that the small band of youths we have gets strong in the Lord and reach out to their fellow peers.

As we shared earlier. We have gone back to basics. We want our people to be grounded. They have to know who they are in Christ and solidify their bases. For in the time of trouble they will be able to shake off the shackles of the evil one.

Prayer requests:

1. Let us thank God for our 1st Year anniversary conference which was a huge success. Amen. Let us remember the upcoming Youth conference. This will be in December we are yet to finalize on the dates but remember us in your prayers. Amen

2.Let us thank the Lord for the newly commissioned Discipleship team. May they show hunger for the young and lost. May they go forth and bring them closer to the Lord we pray. Amen

3.. We need prayer for financial growth. As the church grows needs are growing too. apart from rent we have needs among the congregants that we want the church to help meet and enable these young souls to commit more and more to Jesus.

4. we need prayer for the development of the piece of land we were allocated. Firstly we need to have the land flattened and levelled up using a caterpillar then have plans drawn up or have a tent to use on the ground.

5. Please pray for our church members who are in need of jobs to sustain themselves and their families. Jobs are totally scarce. But God has to make a way. Because matters of the stomach are affecting church attendance and commitment. We need to break through here.

6. Be praying for area leaders we have appointed in the 3 areas where we seek to  do mid week services and expand our ministry horizons. That they may wait upon the Lord and love the people they are leading.

7. Let us be praying for the Spirit of oneness in the church as time has now come for all the congregants to be fruitful and disciple someone.

8. Let us be praying for the men and the various portfolios that we inaugurated on Sunday. We will provide more detail in the coming weeks.

Be praying for all our weekly programs that they may be effective. We do not want to slip into tradition and just be found doing things for the sake of doing. We want real impact during every program. Amen. That is Tuesday prayer meetings, Wednesday Youth meetings, Thursday Bible study, Friday Ladies prayer, Saturday Ladies meeting, decor and clean up, Sunday Service and children's church and Men's meeting. Thank you.

8 September 2014

You got to love the Youth. SO full of life and expectation. On Sunday afternoon they organized their little get together over volleyball with juice and eats. It was an open event and a lot of unsaved youths came along to the social and barriers were broken and friendships formed. What an awesome God we serve. They will continue to nurture these relationships and invite the unsaved youths to church. Praise God. We are the Jesus Mission church and to seek out the lost remains our number one mission. We are not looking for those who hop from one church to the other but those who have never been to a church and have never known about the love of Jesus. With Jesus this is mission possible. May we continue to uplift the youths as there are many of them who do not know the Lord in the area we are operating from. May God arise daily in this area.

Prayer requests:

1 September 2014

What a time of refreshment!!! God is good. Our conference was a huge success. Thank you to all who prayed with us. We experienced God's hand in a mighty way! at least 200 people were in attendance including children. We ended up moving into a disused hall where it all began exactly a year ago today. The classroom where we normally used was not big enough. On Friday evening a lot of the adults returned home as there was no room and we just could not cope.

We thank God for Pastors Brian Mackenzie and Hungwe for taking time out of their busy schedules to come and share the word of God with us. Our God is great. We have certainly laid down a marker and things can only get better and better from here on as the Lord enables us.

We are officially returning to the disused hall. It has no windows or door but God will help us fix it up and make it habitable again. This is our opportunity to do the work of the Lord. Amen.

In December we are going to host our first ever Youth conference. We have seen the hunger among the Youth for the things of God and the Lord has nudged us to have a conference for them. This will have to be during the school holidays to ensure all the youths are present.

28 July 2014

We thank God for yet another service. It is the Lord who gives us the strength to face each day. We are therefore truly thankful for the growth and commitment that has begun to emerge. End of next month we celebrate 1 year as a church and we will be having a one year anniversary conference. We are looking forward to it. It is a time of coming together to eat, celebrate and dance and rejoice before our God. We hope it will be a real feast! For our God has done a mighty thing in our midst. Praise be to His name. Amen

We shared from the book of Luke. The story of Martha and Mary when Jesus and his disciples visited their home. Martha got distracted with service while Mary chose to sit at the feet of Jesus and learn. We are in many ways victims of the Martha Syndrome in this day and age. Ever so busy with our own chores and jobs or even with service to God that we forget to grow our relationship with God Himself. May God help us today. Amen.

Our first anniversary conference beckons. 29-31 August 2014. We are really excited and looking forward to it. God is good. Its been a god year and we have learnt so much but we are only but beginning. God help us! God has raised a good worship team. It was wonderful to see the various talents being exhibited in church on Sunday. We still do not have musical instruments yet but our voices and our clapping hands are lifting us up to the heavenlies. May God help the new found love of ministering through song stay strong and growing. Amen.

14 July 2014

God has been visiting us. A number of our congregants have fallen ill and our good God has healed them all. It pleases us to see God growing this ministry to be well rounded. Widows getting financial help, lives being changed and the sick getting healed. We cannot ask for more. We serve an awesome God!

The biggest need is for unity. We need the church to all love one another and to understand and bear with each other's weaknesses s we patiently wait upon the Lord.

As we mentioned last week its almost a year since we started the work and to celebrate this we are going to have a conference from 29-31 August 2014. This will be a time to eat and fellowship and just rejoice in the presence of our God. Amen. Be in prayer for us.

7 July 2014

Can't believe its almost a year since our first church service. We had our first service on the 1st of September. God is good. And now come it will be a year in August. We have decided to have a a one year anniversary conference. A time to eat and celebrate the goodness of God. We will have our conference 29-31 August 2014.

Its been a year fraught with challenges. Highs and lows. Its tough but because God is on the job 24/7 He makes it happen. We are grateful to Him. We would love to start sharing some testimonies as we go as we begin our one Year celebrations.

We rejoice in our God. New people continue to come and give their lives to the Lord. Really good to serve the Lord. Amen.

We have moved our praise and worship practice slot from Saturday to Friday evening 6pm to 7pm. This is because Sat is too swamped and half the time people are unable to come for practice. We hope and pray that the shift will result in a lot of women, men and Youths coming. As we also begin our conference preps at this time. God is good.

30 June 2014

As we explained last week. We called up a few people and asked them to shoulder some responsibilities in the church. The beauty of it is we started with the discipleship team. We are a discipling ministry and therefore expedient that we get discipleship up and running in all earnest. We met with the team yesterday and there is a hunger to get started right away. We will not be dissuaded from our heavenly call. money or the lack of it will not be able to separate us from our heavenly call. God is good.

We have shared before the need for us to acquire our own piece of land for purposes of church. We continue to trust God. It will happen in due season. Praise God. We are completely filling up the classroom where we have been meeting. We do not want to fill the place up with chaff. we want well rounded and committed children of God. This is why discipleship is critical for us. Most of the saints in our assembly gave their lives to the Lord within our assembly. We pray for spiritual growth. Amen.

Prayer requests:

1.Let us thank the Lord for the newly commissioned Discipleship team. May they show hunger the young and lost. May they go forth and bring them closer to the Lord we pray. Amen

2. We need prayer for financial growth. As the church grows needs are growing too. apart from rent we have needs among the congregants that we want the church to help meet and enable these young souls to commit more and more to Jesus.

Thank you.

23 June 2014

The Youth all night meeting was a huge success. It is wonderful to see Youth with such a hunger for the Lord. 45 youths attended the meeting. At these all night meetings they give each other a chance to share from the word and grow and pray! We pray they maintain the same spirit.

On Sunday we had occasion to appoint various people to various church portfolios to enhance ministry effectiveness. It is our heart's desire that everyone involved may leave their own mark and bring as many to the knowledge of our Lord and disciple many too for without discipleship we will be doing a disservice the the ministry. It is the biggest commandment by our Lord.

A men's get together is being organized with a view to targeting the many men in the community. We thank God for such initiatives.

Prayer requests:

1.Let us thank the Lord for a successful Youth all night meeting. We need the Youth to remain focused.

2. We need prayer for financial growth. As the church grows needs are growing too. apart from rent we have needs among the congregants that we want the church to help meet and enable these young souls to commit more and more to Jesus.

3. we need prayer for the development of the piece of land we were allocated. Firstly we need to have the land flattened and levelled up using a caterpillar then have plans drawn up or have a tent to use on the ground.

4. Please pray for our church members who are in need of jobs to sustain themselves and their families. Jobs are totally scarce. But God has to make a way. Because matters of the stomach are affecting church attendance and commitment. We need to break through here.

5. Be praying for area leaders we have appointed in the 3 areas where we seek to  do mid week services and expand our ministry horizons. That they may wait upon the Lord and love the people they are leading.

6. Let us be praying for the Spirit of oneness in the church as time has now come for all the congregants to be fruitful and disciple someone.

Amen. That is Tuesday prayer meetings, Wednesday Youth meetings, Thursday Bible study, Friday Ladies prayer, Saturday Ladies meeting and praise and worship practice, Sunday Service and children's church and Men's meeting. Thank you.

Challenges are meant to strengthen us. This past week we were dealing with challenges among individual church members or couples. Thus yesterday was a long day. But we are thankful to God for the opportunity to be a ministry to people and to point people to Jesus. Because we are not our own. We have been bought with a price. Praise God. At the end of the day God watches over His children's needs.

Men are growing in number as far as church attendance is concerned we want this to continue and for men's programs to become a permanent feature on the church calendar.

Let us remember the youth. We thank God for the manner in which they are channeling their energies. They are now meeting daily to pray for the various church programs and this coming Friday they have their youth all night meeting.

Prayer requests:

1.Let us be praying for the upcoming Youth all night. That God might show up and lead these young people to a closer walk with Him.

2. We need prayer for financial growth. As the church grows needs are growing too. apart from rent we have needs among the congregants that we want the church to help meet and enable these young souls to commit more and more to Jesus.

5 souls gave their lives to the Lord in church on Sunday. We praise the Lord! God is still in the business of saving souls. Praise be to His Holy name. As always the task of discipling the people is an important one and one we should prayerfully go through. What we do not want is for any of the souls to get lost or descend into religious mode. We want vibrant children of God growing on a daily basis. Seeking the Lord more and more! Amen.

In 2 weeks time the Youth will have an all night meeting. All night meeting helps the youth to come together in prayer, word sharing and fellowship. Some of them work at a local brick making firm run by the Chinese and working hours are not flexible hence they miss church and any mid week programs. These all night meetings help them come together. Amen

Firstly we want to praise the Lord for a successful women's all night meeting. 30 ladies attended and it was a big blessing. Good relations continue to form to the praise and glory of the Lord. We want solid and grounded women of God in our fellowship. Amen.

We have engaged the Cooperative again over the land. The piece we have will cost an arm and a leg to level up. whereas the land adjacent to it is much much better. We have started discussions again and currently our positions are still far apart. We need a breakthrough here! Amen.

Church remains exciting. God is visiting us and blessing us. It is good to note that new converts are growing in their walk with God and showing increased hunger to learn from God. Let us keep these in our prayers.

We remain thankful to God for the oneness He is bringing to us as a church as we seriously pursue relational discipleship. Not one of these our brethren must be lost. Visit our facebook page for our devotionals. God bless you.

Prayer requests:

1.Let us praise the Lord for a successful women's all night meeting that took place Friday evening into Sunday.

Well, well... The clearing up day was a resounding success! After church we went down to the proposed church site with slashers, hoes and shovels to try clear the area. The grass was pretty long and needed to see how uneven the actual ground is. And yes Men and women alike took turns to work the land. We didn't think we would finish even clearing the grass but people worked tirelessly and got it done. Afterwards we shared a meal. While the bulk of the people were clearing the land a few were making a meal by a fire nearby! What a wonderful time of eating together and fellowship. After the food we gathered around and sang some happy songs and danced around before getting into worship and prayer! God is great! Memories like these will forever be etched in our hearts. Thank you for covering us in prayers for this day. Now we pray for phase 2. This is the bulldozer phase! the land is pretty uneven and has some horrible gullies. God will see us through. Amen

Prayer requests:

1.Let us praise the Lord for a successful land clearing outing!

Yesterday we embarked on home visits till about 1730hrs. It was wonderful getting into houses and praying with the people. That personal touch is important. We must never neglect being with people and seeing them. The exercise will continue next Sunday after church as there are other areas that we failed to visit.

25 May is the day we are going out as a church to the land we have been allocated to go and clear the land. Yes we are no bulldozers neither are we caterpillars but with hoes, shovels, and any other equipment to try and work the land. We will go to the site after service. We have asked everyone to bring change of clothes and to get ready to get their hands dirty! This is exciting in so many ways. We thank God for the opportunity to serve Him and to have people willing to bend their backs to make the house of the Lord a reality! To God be the glory. Amen

We intend to do a bring and share so we eat together as we work and fellowship.

We continue to pray for ideas to be involved in some sort of economical activity.. We need this if we are to make progress. As a church we have to be available to meet the needs of the people and help broaden their horizons.

Prayer requests:

1.Lets be praying for the May 25 land clearing plans. We want all our members involved and working the land together for enhanced fellowship and strengthening of relationships.

2. We managed to pay our first and second rentals for April and May respectively. God is good. Do keep us in your prayers. God is opening doors. Amen

As a church we have become very actively involved in the lives of the people in this Mount Hampden area. With the help of our sports ministry (Harvesters in Sport) We have all kinds of sporting activities going on namely volleyball, football and netball. The once sleepy settlement is now a hive of activity. where women spent time being busy bodies and men frequenting a local watering hall (pub) more and more are getting involved in the sporting activities. What a good God we serve!

Through the Harvesters in Sport arm we have a few kids we are helping with school fees and this has opened up opportunities for Jesus. As a church we have helped a couple of families with housing and God has used that too to bring his children to Him. We are happy to be a relevant church meeting spiritual, social and in a small way economical needs of the people. May God continue to increase us in all those spheres that more and more people may come to the serving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We are still following up on the 18 people who gave their lives to the Lord during our recently ended Easter conference. It gives us great joy to see at least 5 of them in church. We pray and hope the rest of them will follow. God is good. As always keep us in your prayers as God takes us on this amazing journey. Amen

Apologies for not sending updates last week. Our Easter conference was amazing! God showed up! We have never experienced such a revival. And being our first ever conference the success was amazing. Pastor Brian Mackenzie of House of all nations was our guest speaker. It was a time of rejoicing in the Lord. Eating together and enhancing fellowship and relations. We praise His name. 18 people gave their lives to the Lord. Huge addition to the church. God is great! Amen. Follow ups have now begun and we are looking forward to preserving the fruit as the Lord enables us.

The impact of the conference is such that prayer meetings on Tuesday evenings now have over 30 attendees. the same is true for bible study meetings! What an awesome God we serve. Because of the hunger for God's word brought about by the Lord Himself. We have now added Friday evenings for another prayer/bible study slot. People are willing to come out and we are ready to teach and to raise Leaders as the Lord enables us. We praise His holy name. Amen.

Easter Conference is here: Our inaugural Easter Conference takes place from this Friday in Mount Hampden by the church premises. We are looking forward enjoying God's presence as we remember the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our theme for the conference is: Prioritizing your relationship with Jesus.

We have had a lot of testimonies from the community concerning the good work the church is doing in the area. Helping the homeless, feeding the hungry. And we would love to expand on these good acts as genuinely suffering people are being helped and an opportunity to preach the gospel is found. Our God is great! He is the provider of it all..

On the whole we cant wait to be doing it all on our own premises.

As always stand with us in prayer as we seek for God to move mightily in our midst and cause many to come to the knowledge of our Lord Jesus.

Let us keep praying and resourcing His work. To God be the glory!!!! mail us! This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

7 April 2014

The Saturday program has brought a big boom to the children's church on Sundays. We now have a dedicated core group of children who are Christ Centered. No wonder Christ urged us not to interfere with the young ones but instead let them come unto Him. They are currently working on an Easter play to commemorate the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. You should see them taking their roles seriously... God is good.

Through the influence of the women's netball there has been an influx of new women in the church, while most are not yet coming (we will bide our time and build relations) but a few have already come and given their lives to the Lord.

A new cry from men has come to the fore, they want volleyball sessions for men too. We hope to get a net and a volleyball real soon and get this up and running. We will not pass by opportunities to lead men to Jesus. Hallelujah!

As always stand with us in prayer as we seek for God to move mightily in our midst and cause many to come to the knowledge of our Lord Jesus.

Whats pleasing more than anything else is the sense of revival we are getting for the area we are working in. People are abandoning sects and cults to come and join our fellowship. Our heart's desire is that we continue in one accord and in love and be able to demonstrate the love of Jesus in this area. Because love covers a multitude of sins we will be able to win a whole lot more for Jesus. Amen.

Officially it is now impossible to have both adults and children in the one class. Yesterday we were 118 in total. This means children will need to be in their own class for the duration of the service. Double rent for the month as we will now be using two classes. We need God to help us build on the land we have been allocated as we definitely wont be able to handle the expenses of paying for two classes. But hey God is God He will take care of it.

Let us therefore not lose heart but continue to pray. It delights us that little children are giving their lives to the Lord and beginning to speak to their own parents. soon our nets will not be sufficient for the catch that's coming our way. Praise God.

Jesus said let the little children come unto me. Forbid them not. Yesterday our children's church had 60 children!! We have no capacity to handle such a huge number but we cant turn them away! The classroom we are meeting is way too small to accommodate 30+ adults and 60 children. It is therefore now an urgent matter that we get resourced and build our own structure on the land allotted us by the local cooperative. Yes a temporary measure as the cooperative do not own the land but eventually this will lead us to our own land. SO there you have it we cramming 100 people in one small rural classroom! We need God now!

Multiplication is taking place first up among the children. Soon their parents will follow! We need to be ready for this huge harvest! We thank God for the team He is building. We are therefore ready spiritually but materially and financially we are miles behind. May God arise over this area and satisfy us. Amen.

Yesterday the school authorities approached us and effective 1 April we will be paying rent. They had just said so in passing previously but now we will be served with an official document. God will come to our aid! Amen.

Our Easter conference is around the corner! 18-20 April. Like we mentioned earlier we would like to provide meals for all those who will be attending. Just a way of cementing relations. Jesus was a master of the ministry of eating! We want to do the same! eating together brings us closer! Amen. Be praying for all the financial resources that are needed for this to become a reality.

March the month of Multiplication. God is good! Remember even rocks can be enabled to sing out His praises. Hallelujah. Yesterday our Sunday School led praise and worship. What a blessing that was! 20 or so kids stood in front and led us through song and dance and into worship! God indeed uses the available! How available are you today for God's use!? It don't matter your age. God will be able to use you as you are! Amen

10 March 2014

It is the month of Multiplication. We continue to wait on God for souls. We have been called to make disciples and it starts now. We are excited by the upcoming Easter Conference. We plan to cook food and eat together in fellowship and cement our relationships. It is the most exciting event of our new church. We will start off by doing an evening service on Friday the 18th of April then the whole day on Saturday. Sunday we will do our normal Sunday service culminating in a meal to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior.

We have three areas that we have targeted for prayer and bible study groups as a way of spreading ourselves out. Please be praying for us as we seek for God to confirm the local Leaders to take this work forward.

1. please be praying for us for financial resources and ideas on how we can fund raise. The school where we are currently using now want us to pay monthly rentals and at the new proposed site for a church structure we are expected to be paying a monthly rental as well

We want real impact during every program. Amen. That is Tuesday prayer meetings, Wednesday Youth meetings, Thursday Bible study, Friday Ladies prayer, Saturday Ladies meeting and praise and worship practice, Sunday Service and children's church and Men's meeting. Thank you.

3 March 2014

Time to pursue uprightness and be pleasing before God is now. March is our month of multiplication. Amen. We are trusting God for new souls, resources and etc.

18-20 April 2014 will be time for our Easter Conference under the theme "Time to prioritize our relationship with Jesus."

The good news we shared last week pertained to the land that the local cooperative granted us. We are now trusting God for opportunities to fund raise for the construction work to begin but before that happens we will need to engage someone for a plan and costing so we know what we are looking at.

In the past month we have seen a renewed commitment to the work by our congregants and we pray they may continue in the same vein. As we highlighted last week the lack that's in this community is truly painful. things like dilutable drinks we take for granted are like gold in this area. the poverty is on another level but since they have accepted Jesus and are growing in Him we believe God will raise them and provide materially and financially for them.

1. please be praying for us for financial resources and ideas on how we can fund raise. The school where we are currently using now want us to pay monthly rentals and at the new proposed site for a church structure we are expected to be paying a monthly rental as well

2. Please pray for our Easter conference. That while it is a time for spiritual enrichment it may be a time of fellowship through food and drink and we celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Be praying for all our programming that it may be effective. We do not want to slip into tradition and just be found doing things for the sake of doing. We want real impact during every program. Amen.

24 February 2014

We shared on Jeremiah 32v17 and 27. Nothing is too hard for our God. We as God's children are the problem. We dont want a proper relationship with Jesus we only want Him to be the magician in times of crisis and problems. God help us.

Thank you for praying for us concerning the land. We have had our land request granted. But the area is bushy and uneven. We need to raise funds to get the land levelled and funds too to get a tent or put up a temporary structure. once that is in place we can work on getting proper documentation from council leading to the construction of permanent structures for the church. Nothing is too hard four our God. We will put this to prayer and with your prayer input our God will bring it to pass.

Remember our weekly programs. Our prayer meetings on Tuesdays, youth meetings Wednesday evenings, Bible study on Thursdays, Ladies prayer Friday Afternoons, ladies meeting Sat afternoon, Men's meeting Saturday afternoon and Sunday service.

God is building His work. May we continue to faithfully seek him and serve Him. Amen

17 February 2014

We shared on Matthew 10:28-31. The example of the sparrows and how God values us above many sparrows. The problem with today's Christian is a lack of placing value and importance on our relationship with Jesus. The bible is clear about who needs to be making all the moves! God made the ultimate move by sending His son Jesus to die for us at Calvary's Cross thereafter we who accept Jesus need to be drawing near to God for Him to draw near to us. It is that simple. We make all the moves now, failure to do so means we will never have a fruitful relationship with Jesus and we will not live fulfilled lives.

Onto some church news. We have since lodged our letter for land to do a temporary structure for a church while we work on dealing with the council for a more permanent piece of land. God is doing it.

Our boys played a soccer match versus AFM church. It was wonderful to have our youth having fellowship at that level. More of the same is expected going forward. God is good.

Prayer items:

1. Let us continue to pray for the sport strategy that is bringing us a lot of young men from the community. We need them growing in their walk with Jesus.

2. We launch our men's fellowship this coming Saturday. Please be praying for us for a good start and that all the men will remain enthusiastic about the work of God and the point of meeting in prayer and fellowship as men

3. Let us be praying for the ladies as they continue on their theme of unity and love. We want oneness as the body of Christ.

4. We need our fundraising efforts to begin in earnest and for the numerous young men and women in the community to find work for themselves. The lack in the area is at such unacceptable levels.

Thank you for standing with us in prayer.

10 February 2014

We shared from Luke 18v 1-8 The parable of the persistent widow. We have such a powerful tool a life and situation changing tool that we hardly engage and put to full use. This tool is prayer! We need to pray and not only pray but to pray always!! Pray without ceasing. We must persevere in prayer with regard to all matters until Jesus returns. We have an adversary (the devil) on the prowl continually. We therefore have to remain prayerful in and out of season. God help us.

This week let us challenge ourselves to pray more. Gone are the days where you just say 2 word or 2 minute prayers. Put a challenge before yourself and time yourself as a way of pushing yourself to pray longer than before.

One person gave their life to the Lord yesterday! Hallelujah. Rejoice with us.

Help us pray for the following.

1. We have engaged the local authority pertaining to land for a church. We want land availed to us for purposes of constructing a simple church structure. We can no longer fit into the classroom we are currently using.

2. We need the women of our church to be united and pursuing a common purpose. This will help with stability in the church

3. The Young people have shown a lot of effort and zeal for the things of God. We need them to be more prayerful and focused to help them attain church and personal goals.

4. Finances- We need to find meaningful projects to do as a church to enable us to buy chairs and have funds being stored up for the impending building project. Thank you for your support in Christ. Amen.

3 February 2014

Church service was wonderful. Our singing has reached new wonderful levels yet its all choral and no musical instruments. We are happy with the progress the church is making. Time has now come for us to start looking for land to move the church to a more appropriate venue. Like we shared last week the classroom is no longer adequate for our meetings. Please be praying for us as we embark on this.

Yesterday God added two new souls to our family at Harvesters Ministry Fellowship. God is good. Let us be praying for Wellington and Shingi who gave their lives to the Lord yesterday that the Lord may strengthen them and lead them onto greener pastures in Him. Amen.

The youth have begun meeting on Wednesday evenings. This is an important group of people for the church. We want their energies to be channeled towards soul winning. It is therefore imperative that their meetings are as fruitful and growth is achieved. Let us remember them in our prayers. Amen.

We welcome you to 2014. quite a few things have happened since the last time we were on here. Firstly we thank God for life. We thank God for a lovely congregation that despite several challenges continues to rise and grow beyond them. We want to sow for ourselves righteousness this 2014. We want the Lord to rain righteousness on us. The classroom where we have been meeting has now officially gotten small. Altogether adults and children we are now over 60. We are trusting God for land to construct a simple structure for purposes of church.

Be praying with us for this. We need to keep growing. And We want to continue to uplift the leaders God is raising for this church that they may continue to grow and to take up their place. For soon it will be time for the Kwendas to move on and start another assembly in a new area. Let God arise and His enemies be scattered!!!! Amen..

23 December 2013

In the midst of torrential rain we held our half night of prayer on the 20th of December. We are a young fellowship meeting in a very poor community of Mount Hampden. Temporary settlements and farm compounds make up the population. But we thank God for the hunger for Christ that people are displaying in the area. A few would love to serve God as Pastors one fine day. We are truly humbled. We will continue to play our part and groom some of these budding leaders.

On Christmas Day we will hold a special service very early in the morning before people scatter to go celebrate with their loved ones in their own way. But it fills us with such joy that we can gather together first up to acknowledge our Lord and Savior Jesus' day of birth. Amen.

on 31 December we will gather together in prayer at 8pm and cross over together as a young family in Mount Hampden. This will be another half night of prayer and sharing from God's word.

Be praying for us as we seek to grow together and to consolidate our gains of 2013 into 2014. We want this group of people to remain firmly united and focused on the coming King. Let Jesus reign supreme in our lives.

Our theme is 2014: YEAR OF BREAKING UP THE FALLOW GROUND based on Hosea 10v12. We will explain more in the New Year. God bless you and thank you for partnering with us in prayer. Let us not lose heart instead let us continue to seek God for Harvesters Ministry Fellowship. Amen. We would love to hear from you. 16 December 2013

Where God is moving opposition becomes very stiff. We have been meeting in a disused hall since 1 September but opposition to our work has been brewing steadily culminating in our ejection from the meeting place this past week. Local community leadership without consulting us decided to house a spirit medium in the hall. You know when God's revival is about to visit a place the devil brings his own counterfeit revival first.  But God opened another door for us and we have been allowed by the school to use one of the classrooms for our meetings. Praise His name. We will not be deterred from our God given mandate. We now want you to join us in prayer as we pray for the school authorities to keep us on the premises till God blesses us with our own piece of land to build a church, an orphanage and a school. This is what we need to do eventually. It will all come together through Jesus. Amen.

We rejoiced again yesterday as a male adult gave his life to the Lord. Every Sunday someone is giving their life to the Lord. Truly amazing what God is doing in this area. This Friday 20 December we have a half night of prayer in one of the classrooms starting at 8pm till 12midnight. Be praying with us. We desire to have God meet with us this Friday. Let Him build His work. We are willing vessels. Amen.

We will be sharing our theme for 2014 with you in the week or so to come. We are looking to consolidate the work of God in 2014 and beyond. Amen.

9 December 2013

Fellowship was wonderful. Lives continue to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus. We praise His Holy name. God is doing it. We take comfort in knowing "He who began a good work in us will bring it to completion." We therefore do not fret when things are seemingly not in place. He always takes care of the rest. We accept the learning and growing processes our God has ordained for us.

20 December 2013 will be our half night of prayer. We will pray from 8pm till midnight. We say Lord teach us to pray. Teach us to stand in the gap one for another. Amen.

As we shared last week please be praying for chairs we need for people to sit on. We are currently borrowing benches from the local school. As always we would love to hear from you do mail us on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it God bless you.

2 December 2013

This past Sunday we commissioned two teams to go serve in two areas through leading bible studies and prayer meetings. God is growing His church and we stand in awe at what He is doing. At some point we thought we were going to get accomplished people to come and serve in some of these areas but God has raised from within and we can only praise His name for all glory belongs to him.

two people were added to God's family during the service. We well and truly stand in awe at what God is doing. for the past 4 weeks new people have been giving their lives to the Lord. We are always full of rejoicing. Keep praying with us. We need furniture for the church. We need a door for the place we are using. Yes it does not belong to us but we would love to be good stewards and start putting doors and windows and fixing it all up. Amen.

It would be wonderful to leave the place when we move into our own (when the Lord provides for us) in a good state. As always we appreciate your feedback. Kindly mail us on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

25 November 2013

New souls are coming to the Lord weekly. We praise God. Time has come for us to commission two teams of labourers who will going out as the church's first missionaries. Things have evolved and God is good. We however continue to pray for land for a church. Land for an orphanage and a community school. This has been weighing heavily on our hearts and we believe the Lord is pointing us in that particular direction. These however remain the days of small beginnings. We despise them not. We rejoice instead for God is taking us somewhere and building our faith in Him. Amen.

Apart from the land issue please join us in praying for the souls that they may remain rooted in Jesus. That they may not waiver. Already one of the precious souls has become absent from assembly. We desire for their return to fellowship. We dont want any one of them to be lost or to go back. Amen.

As always we value your feedback and communication. Keep in touch with us via email on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

18 November 2013

Let us continue to pray for land for the church. Where we are meeting is a temporary place. We need a more secure place for growth and stability. We want to thank the Lord for our Sunday service. 2 more people came to know Jesus. Though they live a bit further out we crave for prayers for them that Jesus may protect them while we are organizing prayer meetings and bible study slots for their area.

To date we have distributed 12 bibles and we are gathering funds to buy some more and hand out. Our constituency is very poor and most cant even afford a decent meal let alone money to buy a bible. We will therefore continue to provide bibles and ensure no one has an excuse for failing to grow. We however have a new challenge as some of the adults cannot read or write. We want to utilize available believers to go and read the word to them at appropriate times as faith come by hearing and hearing the word of God.

Continue to pray for us for resource provision as the work before us is mammoth. Amen. But God is in charge. He will bring it to pass. Praise to His Holy Name.

11 November 2013

We desire prayer support for land for the church. As are aware we are housed in a temporary shelter meanwhile. We seeking for land to construct a church, a community center and sports fields. But our biggest priority is getting the saints a roof over their heads in 2014. Do keep us in your prayers.

Secondly we praying for the souls God has brought to the church that they may continually pursue spiritual growth and prioritize their walk with Jesus. What is evident is the big economic vacuum in the area. the dire need for jobs and mostly any kind of job. Join us as we pray for the saints in this area that God may give them something worthwhile to occupy their time. Amen

We want to begin door to door visits end of November please be praying for us for the enormous work ahead of us. With God all things are possible. That He may give us utterance as we enter different households. Amen.

04 November 2013

We crave your prayers as we do not want any of the new converts to be lost and go back. Being a very closely knit community any careless chatter is bound to drive the new converts away. We do not want any to be lost. As we have shared before we have over 20 people who have given their lives to the Lord since the work began in this area.

The enemies of the work have not stopped trying to do down the work and destroy the work of God in the area. This has only served to embolden us to keep seeking His face. We are convinced we are onto something hence the stiff opposition in some quarters. Through prayer support we will see this trying phase through. We God the praise for He has anointed us and set us apart for such a time as this and we will not be dissuaded from the work at hand. Amen.

Pray for the Youth as they will beginning this week be meeting for prayer Wednesday evenings from 6pm. Pray for the women as well as they will be meeting starting this week on Fridays from 6pm as well. God is doing it. Amen. He who began a good work in us shall bring it to completion.

29 October 2013

We give Jesus the glory for yet another wonderful week. Like we explained last week problems have not stopped but neither has God. We face several challenges. If you wish to be included in the Harvesters Ministry Fellowship prayers list and monthly updates please send us your name and email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Let God arise and His enemies be scattered. This past Sunday 3 new souls gave their lives to the Lord and we had a few bibles at hand to give to the new believers. God is raining souls at Harvesters Ministry Fellowship. We have a healthy children's church with numbers over 25 children. The adult service is now inching close to 30 members. We are still dealing with foundational spiritual matters as we seek for each and every one of the congregants to cement their relationship with Jesus. Please keep praying for this young work that God may visit us and that people may continue in their new found faith. We will be sharing testimonies of what God is doing in people's lives through This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it please subscribe by sending your name and email address to us. God bless you and keep you. Let us keep serving Him and growing His work. Today we start a church prayer group at a different location as people are not able to travel long distances to come for prayer meetings on Tuesdays and bible study meetings on Thursdays. All for his glory. Amen.

21 October

We remain committed to establishing a web page for Harvesters Ministry Fellowship. We remain working on it. Be praying for us. We want to ensure Harvesters in Sport Ministry an inter denominational ministry remains standing alone. Amen.

The work God has ordained is growing and we are so excited to be a part of what God is doing. As we stated from the very beginning our interest remains largely in ensuring the core group gets grounded in the Lord. This will help the church to have a strong membership. People who are spiritual and know their God. Be praying for us as we continue with the foundational work of ministry. We are encountering a lot of resistance and demoralization as we go about our work but we need God to strengthen us and to continue to renew our appetite for His work on a daily basis. Amen. Pray too for the flock as they are being sifted through that they may remain standing. That they may remain focused. Jesus who has begun the good work in them will bring it to completion. Amen.

14 October 2013

We thank God for we have now completed 7 Sunday services. The team is coming together ad the fellowship is strong. To date 9 people have given their lives to the Lord. And the hunger for God is growing daily. Church attendance has risen to 25 adults. Our primary focus at the moment is to grow the vision in the few people that we started off with. Time for numerical explosion will come. Meanwhile do keep us in your prayers as we now seek for a way to start a couple of church projects to help the unemployed find something meaningful to do with their lives.

The Kingdom of God is not a matter of chatter only the Christian faith is real and practical. We want all those with empty stomachs to be filled day in and day out. Amen. God will do it. The Jesus Mission will be fulfilled daily in this area. Praise God. Lets keep praying.

16 September 2013

We praise the Lord for our third Sunday service. We did a small eating together afterwards just to celebrate Jesus together. We are really touched by how our group is responding to the love of Jesus and God added a new member into his kingdom. A lady gave her life to the Lord. This is surely exciting and we will not trade this for anything else.

Continue to pray for our Tuesday prayer meetings, our Thursday bible study meetings, Saturday Praise practice and our Sunday services. It is coming together. This core group of new and restored believers is going to be used of God to shake this community! Amen. They are in preparation. God is good! More updates as we go. Our verse of the week Mathew 11:28. Come unto Jesus and find rest for your souls. Amen.

10 September 2013

Thank you for continually keeping us in your prayers. Starting a fellowship is not an easy feat. It needs the hand of the Lord all the way. our first 2 Sundays are now out of the way. We thank God. We have seen God's hand as He is teaching us about the Jesus mission. We learning all over again and new converts are joining us. We have a core group of 15 adults that God is raising up. Amen. We continue to work with these to establish an understanding of the vision God has given us for Harvesters Ministry Fellowship.

Our prayer is that we become a leading light for Jesus in this community. It is an impoverished community that relies on brick making and piece jobs to fend for their families and loved ones and like most impoverished communities they turn to alcohol and substance abuse to help carry them to the next day. But we desire to bring hope to this community through the love of Jesus. Amen

Keep us in your prayers! God is doing a new work. We meet Tuesdays and Thursdays for prayer and bible study respectively from 6pm to 7pm Zimbabwe time on Saturdays we meet for Praise practice from 4pm to half past 5. Sundays our services run from 8-10am. Amen. Keep watching this space for developments and testimonies. God is not through with us yet. Amen.

5 September 2013

Our maiden Sunday service was a huge blessing. Before Sunday our fledgling praise team met end of day on Saturday to put together a few familiar songs and to pray for the Sunday service. Praise God. The members of the fellowship are dedicated to Jesus. Some needed restoration, some needed encouragement as they had not been going to church for a long time. Jesus being on the job 24/7 it was a JOY to see their love for God being rekindled again.

Since we have started church we have had 3 new converts and one healing testimony. We had a brother who was ill for some time but God healed him. Amen.

Our main preoccupation is the Jesus Mission. Hence we calling ourselves The Jesus Mission Church and our Key scripture is Luke 19v10, ‘For the Son of Man came to seek and save that which was lost.’

For this very reason Jesus died and rose again. Today’s church needs to clothe itself with Jesus. Amen.

We continue to cry out to God for souls in the area. People need the Lord. Let the spirit of salvation saturate the community and neighbouring areas we pray. Join us in prayer for the souls of the area.

Secondly we are praying that God raises the ministry team to serve Him in church and in the community for the propagation of the gospel.

Thirdly we are praying for church equipment from plastic chairs, musical instruments to décor materials. We want the place of worship to be beautiful as fitting for the children of God. Amen.

Lastly let us pray for financial resources to help a lot of the children in the community to go to school. The level of poverty is pretty moving. Most struggle to put together a meal in a day. We want to preach a practical Jesus who meets all of their needs. The beauty of it is most of them love to work. They are willing to use their hands but there is just no work or resources to embark on projects.

We want to praise God for we had a pulpit for our first Sunday. God inspired a friend of the ministry to make a pulpit for us. Amen.

We want to praise God for His continued faithfulness to the cause of the work. He continues to amaze us even when the chips are down He raises us up again. He has strengthened us to continue serving Him in this area against all odds. What a Mighty God we serve! He will do it again and again! Amen.

Let us remember Krishna of India in our prayers. He was invited to minister in Korea. We pray his mission is successful. Back in India the team has continued to serve the Lord in Kerela and the work of the church is now at an advanced stage. More detail soon.

19 August 2013

1 September draws ever so close. This is the day our services will begin. The time slot we are working with is 8-10am for now. Please be praying for the start up of this work. Our key verse is Luke 19v10. We remain praying for the preservation of souls in this area. a few have come to know the Lord already through our prayer and bible study meetings every Tuesday 1800-1900 and Thursday respectively.

We are praying for new souls. A lot of people in this area do not know the Lord. We want the Lord to visit them and prepare their hearts for the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We are praying for God to raise a ministry team in this area. A team that we will work with and carry out home visits and strengthen the brethren.

We are praying for all church related logistics like lighting, chairs, transport (to ferry church equipment) that God may resource us accordingly and enable us to begin the work. Amen. Keep joining us in prayer and do visit our prayer diary for Harvesters in Sport updates and prayer items. God bless you.

14 August 2013

"You have stayed long enough at this mountain. Break camp and advance ITS TIME TO TAKE TERRITORY." A word God gave to us beginning of the Year. Now new territories have been overtaken and a new work is about to begin. Those of you who have been faithfully praying with us do not stop! 1 September Harvesters Ministry Fellowship services will begin in Zimbabwe and they will spread like veld fire across the globe. Its time up! God is taking over!! Amen

We  have been having prayer meetings every Tuesday from 6-7pm and recently bible study every Thursday from 6-7pm as well. Keep rallying with us in prayer. Let Jesus take His place. Let Him be made known and let thousands upon thousands come to the knowledge of Him. Amen.

Starting this week we are believing God for chairs and any relevant church furniture to help us get the work established. He is a good God.

The work of Harvesters in Sport will not stop. As we explained earlier the work of Harvesters in Sport will remain inter denominational and will continue to work with different church denominations to the praise and glory of His name.

For Harvesters in Sport detail please visit the prayer diary.

5 August 2013

Here is to a new week. New mercies of God! Amen. We held our first bible study on thursday evening and we are thankful to God for a successful meeting. We are starting from where it all began! Jesus! We are teaching on love and conduct of Jesus as we seek to establish a solid foundation in this area. We managed to hand out a bible to the first Harvesters Ministry Fellowship converts in the area and we are looking into providing a few more bibles to a few of the families that are coming for the prayer meetings and bible studies.

As we enter a new week please be praying for the souls in the area that they may come to Jesus. Please be praying for God to raise a ministry team for us to work with on the ground to carry out evangelism, discipleship, and any works of charity that may be needed in the area. We are here to stay and God providing we will grow from strength to strength.

Pray too for our first service on 1 September 2013. Time has come for us to take new territory for Jesus! We are yet to finalise meeting time but 1 September church services will begin. Glory to God!

As always visit our prayer diary for more on our work and prayer requests. God bless you.

29 July 2013

Greetings this Election Week in Zimbabwe. Welcome to the Harvesters Ministry Fellowship page. Please take note that Harvesters in Sport Ministry a para church organization will remain and function as such. And will remain interdenominational in nature though it will become a ministry of Harvesters Ministry Fellowship. Harvesters Ministry Fellowship will be a church and the first assembly should start beginning of September. We are meeting every Tuesday evening from 6pm to 7pm for prayers and every Thursday from 6pm to 7pm bible study. Keep us in your prayers. July 24 2013

Our second prayer meeting for the establishment of a fellowship took place yesterday. If you recall we had been asking you to pray for Murehwa and Chanda who had shown a desire to know Jesus. They came last night and we explained salvation to them and they gave their lives to the Lord. Its not every day that people approach you wanting Jesus. more often than not we go out to invite them. We therefore give God the praise. He is an awesome God! This in our view is just the tip of an iceberg a whole lot more is coming.

We want to thank God secondly for providing a venue to pray. A cooperative in the area owns a hall and we have been granted temporary permission to use the hall for our prayer meetings. we will therefore be praying every Tuesday 6-7pm then starting next week we will have bible study every thursday from 6-7pm. Our numbers are growing and we are believing God for a lot more people as we build up towards the start of the fellowship God has called us to. Keep us in your prayers. Amen

July 22 2013

Its a new week and new things abound. We look expectantly to God for what He has in store for us this week. Let us muster the art of waiting upon the Lord. Please visit our prayer diary for this week's updates and prayer requests. As always gather with us in prayer and let us watch God perform! Last week our Tuesday prayer meetings began and will resume again this Tuesday as we obey God's voice pertaining to our next steps in ministry. Join us in prayer from wherever you are 6-7pm on Tuesdays, Let us raise our voices in unison! We will be praying for God to raise a ministering team in the area. We will be praying for the harvest. Let souls be made ready to receive the gospel. We will be praying for the establishment of a fellowship in the area. Join with us!! Keep praying for Chanda and Murehwa. They failed to meet with us on Saturday afternoon but God is still on the job amen. We want their hunger for God to grow!

July 17 2013

As we shared on the 15th of July. We met for our first prayer meeting. As we had not secured a venue we walked about and prayed while others huddled in the vehicle and prayed. God is a good God. One passerby saw us praying and approached us. He confessed that he was not happy with his old life and needed God in his life! Despise not the day of small beginnings. It didnt end there after our hour of prayer we got back into the vehicle and got ready to return home and at that very juncture another man came and said he had been told by his colleague about us and he too wanted to meet with the saviour! He too wanted a fresh start with God!! He even went further to tell us he is going to mobilise people to join us for prayer next week Tuesday. Join us in praying for Murehwa and Chanda that the Lord visits them, that the Lord cements them in their fragile days of their faith. That God protects them and delivers them to us on Saturday afternoon when we go for our drop in program with the children. We wish to encourage them further and begin the discipleship process. God is about to do a great work in this area. This is just the beginning. We laud His name. Many more are going to come to the saving knowledge of our Lord. Amen. Rejoice with us. Please be praying too that God raises a ministry team to help us serve this community.

July 15 2013

!Thank you for continually standing with us in prayer. God is about to open a new BIG door! Starting Tuesday 16 July from 6-7pm and every Tuesday going forward we will be praying for the establishment of a fellowship. Harvesters Ministry Fellowship in the Mount Hampden area. Please see more detail on the Prayer Diary.

Our THEME for 2013 is 'It is time to take territory' read on after HMI usual intro. God bless you this 2013. Amen

Harvesters Ministry International (HMI) was established in response to the growing work of ministry. The HMI will oversee the work in Zimbabwe, Uganda, Zambia, UK and any new countries God opens doors for us. Our mandate is to come up with themes for the year. Work tirelessly to raise funds in conjunction with the UK office and a US office in the near future, train and equip country teams for the work of Harvesters.

In 2012 we ran with the theme arise and build and consolidate. We had needed to build on some things we had been given and had been prolonging on. We had needed to consolidate on certain aspects as the Lord saw fit. And we are excited that we managed to build a few stations for the Lord. I am excited we managed to consolidate our hold on communities the Lord gave us particularly in Zimbabwe. Time however has now come for us to take territory. Hence our theme for 2013 is ‘It is time to take territory’ based on Joshua 18 verse 3 and Deuteronomy 4 verse 1.

Joshua 18v3 asks us how long we are going to wait before we begin taking the land the Lord has given us. Isn’t it ironical that in 2012 we were talking daily about waiting on God and come 2013 we are now asking the question how long are you going to wait before taking possession of the land God has given us!

There is no irony! We have waited on God! We have listened to the decrees that the Lord has taught us to enable us to go in and take territory! Ref Deut 4v1. Hence 2013 is time to take territory! We now have a presence in Zimbabwe (where it all began), Zambia, Uganda, UK, South Africa (formative stage). We are taking territory for Jesus. Amen

7-13 January 2013 is the Harvesters prayer week! We will be praying around our theme and our plans for 2013. Join us! Amen

From Monday 18 February 2013 our prayer calendar will be up.

We all have a personal promised land that we must enter if we are to effectively take territory! In 2013 we will explore taking territory, we will explore taking territory, entering your own promised land etc in our daily facebook updates in 2013. Journey with us and let God arise and all enemies be scattered! Amen.

Welcome to the official website of Harvesters in Sport Ministry!

Harvesters in Sport Ministry (HiS) is an interdenominational Christian organization that uses sport as a main vehicle in empowering an individual's or group's spiritual, mental and physical capacities. We have been using sport in conjuction with other methods since 2002, when the ministry was founded by H. P. Kwenda, to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and help transform the lives of people of all ages.

We work with people indiscriminately and have built relationships with people that cover the various ethnic backgrounds found in this country, as well as working with people from other countries who come to take part in our programs, in Zimbabwe.

We believe that every lesson we teach can impact at least one aspect of a person’s life, regardless of their race or religious beliefs. Harvesters in Sport Ministry is run by the Harvesters in Sport secretariat based in Harare which is headed by Hatiatyi and his wife Concilia. To date Harvesters in Sport is on the ground in Zimbabwe, United Kingdom, Zambia and recently in Uganda.
